@Matkafee's Liverpool vs Napoli UCL Prediction & Pick - 9/7

Liverpool face off against Napoli in the opening match for both clubs in Group A. The Reds have failed to score in their previous two trips to Naples losing both matches and are coming off a nil-nil draw in the Merseyside derby. The Reds haven’t enjoyed a great start to their domestic campaign and currently sit seventh in the table. Jurgen Klopp is dealing with multiple injuries in midfield and Mo Salah is yet to find his best form. Napoli are second in Serie A and are unbeaten to start the season. Star forward Victor Osimhen is dealing with some muscular discomfort but should lead the line for the hosts.

Over 2.5 goals is a -150 favorite even though in the previous four meetings there has never been more than two goals scored. I’d argue that the 2018 and 2019 versions of these teams were stronger going forward than the current squads. I’m inclined to take the under 2.5 at plus money here but there’s not much worse then sweating an under for 90 minutes.

I can’t trust Liverpool here at -110 considering their track record at the Stadio Maradona. Napoli double chance looks good around -115 but I can’t get behind that either. After studying this match from all the angles I’ve decided to attack the cards market. Spanish official Carlos Del Cerro Grande averages 4.82 cards per game so I’m playing 4-6 cards in the match at +130 on Caesar’s.
